Bethesda has revealed The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, confirming the next mainline game’s subtitle and its connection to Hammerfell during the company’s 40th-anniversary celebration. The November 3 reveal gives the project first announced in 2018 a more specific identity, while Bethesda says further details are still some time away.
The name also appears on Xbox Wire’s official reveal page. No release date, launch window or final platform list accompanied the announcement.
The teaser supplies a piece of in-world history
The short reveal closes with a passage attributed to Yazar, a Moth Priest serving High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell. Its date is given as 4E 206. The text describes an uncertain vision involving a lost future and a reversed victory, establishing a perspective within the fiction rather than explaining the player’s mission.
As Gematsu’s report of the reveal records, Bethesda characterized the announcement as sharing the name and location while development continues. That is a firmer statement than an interpretation based only on scenery in an earlier teaser.
The dated passage is still not a complete campaign chronology. It identifies when those attributed words were spoken; it does not establish that every event the player experiences occurs in the same year. Likewise, naming Hammerfell does not provide a map boundary, a list of visitable cities or a description of traversal systems.
The celebration already has a playable counterpart in ESO
The Elder Scrolls Online has launched Alik’r Awaits, a Golden Pursuits campaign explicitly celebrating Bethesda’s reveal. It runs until November 10 and directs players toward Dark Anchors and monsters in the Alik’r Desert, within ESO’s Second Era setting.
Completing two, five and seven activities awards batches of two, three and five Warrior Wave Crown Crates respectively, for ten in total. Their contents are randomized. The activity list is available through the Golden Pursuits section of the in-game Activity Finder.
A separate free cosmetic, Sai Sahan’s Dragonguard Attire, is scheduled for the Crown Store from November 9 at 10 a.m. Eastern, or after that day’s maintenance, until November 23 at 10 a.m. Eastern. These rewards belong to ESO; the campaign provides no access to Sentinel or promise of progress transferring into it.
Branding and software availability are separate
The Bethesda Gear Store has also added Sentinel-branded clothing, listing a US$34.99 T-shirt and US$64.99 hoodie. Those are merchandise listings, not game preorders.
For players following the series, the immediate choices are therefore specific: view the named project’s teaser, take part in the related ESO celebration, or wait for Bethesda’s next development presentation. Sentinel now has an official public name and setting; its playable systems and release plans still await their own announcement.
