BloodRush: Undying Wish will leave Steam Early Access on December 3 and launch on consoles the same day. Lightmancer Studios and Nuntius Games have announced versions for PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. Switch 2 support is through backward compatibility, not a separately announced native edition.
The date marks the end of an Early Access period that began on July 1, 2025. The publisher says more than 30 patches have addressed balance, bugs, usability and some ability reworks during that time. The full release also adds the missing conclusion to the game’s story.
What arrives at version 1.0
The developer’s release-date post identifies the sixth and final weapon as the Apocryphal Scythe. It also names the concluding boss encounter, William Werner, the Reaper who Abstains, and two new enemy types, Alchemists and Cultists. Fully voiced scenes accompany the narrative’s final stretch.
Those are concrete additions for existing players, rather than merely a change in the label on the store page. For console players, December 3 is the first announced opportunity to play the game, with the complete release intended to arrive alongside the Steam version.
Health makes hesitation costly
The publisher’s gameplay description centers on a constantly draining health resource called Blood. Executing enemies replenishes it, making movement and aggression part of survival. Dashes, shots and melee attacks can be chained into combinations rather than used as isolated actions.
Runs take place across eight combat arenas with different mechanics. The announced arsenal combines six weapons with more than ten combos and over twenty talents, alongside other upgrades. The practical challenge is to make a build function under time pressure: a powerful attack sequence still needs to reach and finish enemies quickly enough to sustain the character.
The premise gives that system a narrative setting. Death has been imprisoned, but pain, aging, hunger and illness continue. The protagonist enters Death’s domain to confront the Cult of Eternity and restore an end to that suffering. Repeated encounters reveal more about the captors’ motives and beliefs.
Recent changes show how the game has developed
October’s 0.3.9 patch added the Esoteric Lantern aspect. Using Interact without a target throws the Lantern, applying knockback, stun and Doom. The same update made selected Constellations and Black Roses visible on the information screen, giving players more information about the current run.
It also fixed instances of leaving arena boundaries, getting stuck in melee after attempting to shoot, and missing dialogue. Those examples show the kind of iteration behind the publisher’s broader patch count.
Accessibility options include aim assistance, difficulty adjustments and control over combat speed. The Steam content description also says blood effects can be disabled. These settings offer ways to change the presentation and pressure of the combat, while the underlying game remains built around quick movement and maintaining Blood through successful attacks.
