HYPNOS has received a fix for an interaction failure linked to achievement saving, but the remedy comes with a significant condition for affected players: the developer says they need to start the game again from the beginning. The November 3 update follows the exploration adventure’s October 29 departure from Early Access.
Redlock Studio’s patch notice attributes the problem to achievement-save handling. It says the revised fix should stop interactions breaking, while asking anyone who encounters the issue again to identify the last object they used. That is a specific request for information about a possible remaining trigger, rather than a claim that every existing save will repair itself when the update downloads.
The problem had appeared in the October 30 hotfix notes as missing secondary interactions, particularly among people who played during Early Access. At that point, the team was still investigating a possible save issue. The November notice provides a more specific diagnosis and the restart instruction that was absent from that earlier explanation.
Return routes and environmental repairs
The November 3 changes also make several routes more explicit. A portal at Myriam’s altar returns to her enclave, and another at the beginning of Kuranes’ enclave leads back to the cavern. A sliding bridge connects part of the city’s lower wall, while the coastal village receives additional spawn points. The update repairs a cavern-floor collision and fixes menu and field-of-view problems.
These changes are particularly relevant to a game built around finding a path through unusual architecture. The official description places players in the role of Choron, searching for a faceless boy in a semi-open world around the Nameless City. Conversations, choices and environmental interactions help shape that journey. An unavailable interaction can therefore interrupt the means of understanding the world as well as access to a particular object.
Further changes after the save fix
Updated November 6: a subsequent November 5 hotfix reorganizes the presentation of dream sequences. Portals associated with Pale Faces now lead to dreams previously housed in Redlock, while the final dream remains in the room there. The developer describes this as redistributing existing content to improve pacing, rather than adding an entirely new campaign.
That later patch also adds two Zothiques Fragments and activates the Anvil achievement. A further illustrated Black Temple sequence is described as forthcoming, so it should not be counted as part of the already delivered update. For returning players, the important distinction remains between these new presentation changes and the separate November 3 instruction concerning broken interactions and affected progress.
