No Man’s Sky’s Forsaken update adds a scavenging-and-trading loop built around haunted objects, alongside a more direct way to move between nearby star systems. Released on October 28 as version 7.10, it also accompanies the game’s debut on iPhone and iPad.

The launch announcement sends Travellers to wrecked freighters, space hulks, infested outposts and planetary excavation sites. Unusual discoveries from these locations become goods for specialist traders, who exchange them for biomechanical corvette components and other rewards. The update gives repeated salvage trips a progression goal beyond selling ordinary resources.

Building a ship from strange discoveries

The available rewards cover both a corvette’s exterior and the space inside it: organic hull pieces, cockpits and habitation components sit alongside a living Larva Cannon Multi-Tool and a Larva Tank helmet. The weapon uses preserved grubs as its purchase requirement. A player interested in a particular reward therefore has a reason to identify the relevant collectible rather than gather every resource indiscriminately.

Hello Games’ full feature and patch breakdown adds a complication: spending too long harvesting the mementos can draw hostile boundary horrors. That makes the new activity a decision about when to leave a location with what has already been collected, rather than an entirely passive shopping route.

The same update supports uploading space bases for other Travellers to visit. This connects the rewards to a broader building activity: players can customize their vessel, develop an orbital construction and make that construction visible beyond their own save.

Shorter trips through the interface

Nearby systems now show up as bright targets while flying in space. Selecting one permits a warp without opening the Galaxy Map first. This offers a direct route to a neighboring destination; the map remains useful when choosing among systems or planning a longer journey. The new option changes the steps used to initiate travel, rather than turning every visible star into an ordinary destination reached without a warp.

A radial weapon selector reduces cycling through a heavily equipped Multi-Tool’s modes. Minimal HUD mode reduces selected navigational and status information, while postal jobs create delivery tasks for corvette pilots. These additions affect different sessions: a builder may value quick equipment switching, whereas an explorer may prefer less information over the scenery.

The mobile release includes the existing updates and Forsaken, with touch controls and a free introductory trial. Its arrival does not make a mobile purchase necessary for a PC player to use Forsaken’s features.

The first follow-up fixes target the new activities

Update checked November 6: the November 2 patch, 7.13, addresses several problems in that new loop. It fixes blocked hulk salvage and mementos being lost when buying corvette parts with a full inventory. Delivery fixes cover packages being dropped when leaving a corvette and difficulty handing them to delivery boxes.

The follow-up also improves warp mission markers and information shown in Minimal HUD mode. For a returning player, these are relevant distinctions when comparing an early Forsaken session with the updated PC build: failed salvage or delivery interactions may have been bugs, rather than intended requirements of the new missions.
