Witchbrook now has a January 28, 2027 release date, and PlayStation 5 is joining its day-one platform lineup. Chucklefish and Robotality’s announcement places the PS5 version alongside PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and Xbox, with porting support from PlayEveryWare.
The digital release is priced at US$24.99, with other regional prices to be detailed nearer launch. Physical Standard and Collector’s editions are also being prepared, but they will follow the initial digital release. The announcement does not assign those boxed editions a date or confirm their final platform selection.
Classes feed into life outside college
The Steam description places players in Mossport, a seaside town built around Witchbrook College. Attending classes and completing assignments earns merits; studying and passing exams advances the student toward graduation and opens further spells.
The advertised subjects include Alchemy, Potions, Astrology, Rituals, Demon Hunting and Tarot. Those abilities are also intended to be useful beyond the classroom. A player can run a witch business, make goods, fulfil orders and deliver them around town, initially by moped or later by broom after earning the relevant license.
That connection gives the college schedule a purpose beyond filling a progress meter. Learning a skill can feed a business activity, while the money earned helps support the student’s life. The announcement presents a game in which academic progression and everyday routines overlap rather than exist as entirely separate modes.
Mossport has its own routines
The official site introduces covenmates, local shops, seasonal places to visit and a woodland cottage to renovate. Townspeople follow schedules, with their routines changing as seasons and weather change. Friendships and romance are part of the social-RPG design, alongside decorating and developing a home.
The release-date trailer also shows more of the college’s ghostly Chancellor, spellcasting, studying and potion-making. Chucklefish has introduced Kiara Chandra, a postgraduate student with an aptitude for the Arcane Arts, as another of the characters players can get to know.
The combination matters to someone comparing Witchbrook with a conventional farming game. Growing and collecting can be part of the setting, but the central identity is a student learning magic, building relationships and applying those skills in a town. Graduation is the academic goal around which those activities are organized.
Cooperation and collecting have different schedules
The game supports online cooperation for up to four players. The listed shared activities include developing a witch business, improving cottages, practicing magic and traveling together. The material checked for this report does not confirm cross-play between all the announced platforms, so a simultaneous release should not be treated as confirmation of that separate feature.
The release announcement lists ten supported languages, including English, Japanese, Korean and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Digital players have a firm January date to work with; collectors will need the later physical-edition announcement for the contents and timing of those versions. Keeping those dates separate avoids assuming that a boxed copy will arrive on the same day as the download.
